With the dual monitor setup, there is a monitor that sits behind the patient's head and is available
to both the Doctor and Assistant, or to the Hygienist. This monitor is used for data entry
functions like appointment scheduling, treatment planning, as well as diagnosis of digital x-rays.
Many times this monitor is mounted behind the patient's head to protect sensitive data from the
patient.
In this setup, there is another monitor for the patient which can be mounted from the ceiling,
side wall, or even the pole. This second monitor should be in an ideal location to show the patient
their digital x-rays, intraoral camera images, as well as a place to play an educational DVD or
movie. This setup provides the best functions for the patient, as well as the computer operator.
The added benefit of using a ceiling mounted monitor for the patient is to make the monitor
completely visible to the patient while they are in a reclined position.
