If the proper monitor mount is installed, the monitor can be shown or hidden from the patient as desired. The monitor can be used for data entry, or it can be used to show the patient educational or entertainment DVDs. This setup can work well for a hygienist; but in a doctor's operatory this prevents both the Assistant and Doctor from accessing the keyboard and mouse (since the monitor must be mounted to one side or the other inside of the operatory.)
